SpaceXAI Product Lead Maxime Prades said on 12 September 2026 that the company is working toward unifying plans and that the work should be ready in a few weeks. For those using various xAI related products, whether it be X, Cursor, or Grok, this is welcome news, as the current plan surface is wildly confusing, to say the least.
Prades previously worked at Cursor, and now works at SpaceXAI, supervising the overall product ecosystem.
Prades replied on X in a thread about confusing multi-product subscriptions, confirming that the team is aware of the issue, and that changes will be forthcoming in a few weeks.
The reply comes after lots of complaints about non-unified subscriptions between SpaceXAI’s various paid subscription ventures, especially following the launch of Grok Bot. For readers juggling more than one SpaceXAI-adjacent bills today, there is hope that it’ll all get merged into one, easy to use set of plans.
What Is Still Separate Today
Today, the product offering is not easily understood, and relatively confusing. Plans, pricing, and usage statistics for Grok, Grok Bot, Grok Build, Cursor Models, and Non-Cursor Models are segregated across multiple platforms and websites.
Potentially the worst part is that subscriptions don’t stack or mix at the moment. If you have X Premium+ but want more Grok Bot Usage, Cursor Pro+ provides more, but the bucket’s don’t add up together – you just get the largest bucket between everything you subscribe to.
That means that each platform offering, whether on X, xAI, or Cursor, is treated separately, with no clear path towards which one provides the most usage of any particular service, tool, or model. This split has resulted in many customers asking about doubled charges and overlapping entitlements, with the xAI pricing page leaving many questions unanswered.
Cursor’s help page, meanwhile, is explicit that both subscriptions can remain active at once, which means two invoices can land in your inbox, even though you’ve only got one bucket of tokens to play with. In short, the current payment ecosystem is confusing, and at best can result in customers overpaying for no extra services rendered.
In addition, if you have an xAI account with X Premium and also a Cursor account with Pro or Pro+, you’ll receive a mixed web experience. You can access Grok Bot using your Cursor plan, but if you go to Grok.com, you’ll find yourself being told to upgrade to access Grok Bot, even though you already have access.
What’s We’re Hoping Comes Next
Now, with Prades confirming that plan unification is coming, we’re hoping that SpaceXAI offers a more straightforward platform experience. That means one subscription, potentially with multiple options or sub-options to select which features you’d like access to.

We’d love to be able to select access to Cursor, Grok Build, Grok Bot, and X Premium separately, but pay one bill with a discounted price for multiple subscriptions or features, or multiple pricing tiers that are more affordable and accessible for users.
For now, Prades didn’t name exactly what will merge where, or what the unified plan pricing will look like in the future, but we’re hoping for something both cohesive and easy to understand.
