Cursor Permanently Raises Included Grok Usage

Cursor says it has permanently increased included usage for Grok-family models after demand rose around Grok 4.6.

Following the official acquisition of Cursor by SpaceXAI, the Cursor team has been hard at work refining new plans and tools, especially after the launch of Grok Bot. With increased compute availability through SpaceXAI’s data centres, Cursor’s team is meeting the rising wave of demand for their first-party models, including Grok 4.6.

We just increased the included usage of Grok models in Cursor!

Demand has been increasing with the launch of Grok 4.6. We already doubled limits last month with more compute. And now we're raising limits again permanently.

Enjoy!

The new increase will be permanent, and is already enabled for both new and current users.

Growing Demand

Cursor’s Lee Robinson confirmed that demand for models through Cursor has been increasing since the launch of Grok 4.6. Just last month, Cursor doubled user limits, and now it is raining them even further.

Much of this growth is coming from demand for Grok 4.6, which is proving itself to be quite a capable model on the coding front, as well as carry-over usage both Cursor’s Composer 2.5 and Grok Bot.

Applies to More Than Grok

Robinson also went on to confirm that this change applies to all first-party models available in Cursor. That means Grok 4.6, alongside Composer 2.5 and even Grok 4.7 and future SpaceXAI models, when they launch in the near future.

Note this applies to all first-party models in Cursor, including Composer 2.5 and future Grok models.

We’re also working hard at making your Grok Bot usage last longer! More on that soon.

These changes are significant for those who rely on Cursor for coding work, as higher limits simply mean you can get more work done in one session, and more in one week, all while paying less.

Grok Bot Expansion Coming Soon

Robinson closed off by noting that the expansion for now is just limited to models available in Cursor, but that the team has noticed the high demand for Grok Bot.

Grok Bot’s growing popularity has seen people on Cursor Pro+ and even Grok Super Heavy plans burn through their limits in under a couple of days with heavy usage, so we’re excited to see what’s coming next for Grok Bot usage.
