Starlink is now available in the United Arab Emirates. High-speed, low-latency satellite internet is live in the country, and customers can order from a dedicated storefront at starlink.com/unitedarabemirates.
That means households that pre-ordered a kit can get service, and new residential orders can go through checkout where the map shows Available, as of yesterday.
The official post opened the UAE on Starlink’s map, shaded Available from Dubai and Abu Dhabi through Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain. That covers the entirity of the country, include both heavier urban zones, as well as lighter rural areas.
Of course, customers will still need a clear view of the sky, alongside a Starlink Dish to get themselves started.
Residential Plans, Not Mobile
SpaceX has begun to offer standard residential coverage with Starlink in the UAE. It sells regular Starlink home plans and static dishes, alongside its roam package with the Starlink Mini. For now, SpaceX is not offering Starlink Mobile services alongside the country’s incumbents, e& and du.
SpaceX just recently received approval to begin operations in the country through the UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority just a few short days ago.
Kits, Prices and Checkout
A Dubai Marina checkout on the official order page lists Residential 100 Mbps at Dh220 a month with unlimited data, and Residential Max at Dh367 a month, which Starlink describes as its best-performing home service at up to 400+ Mbps.
The Standard 4 X kit is Dh1,465 and includes a Router 3 with Wi-Fi 6, and a Mini kit is listed at Dh1,100. Service is sold with no contracts and a 30-day trial, as is standard with Starlink globally.
Customers who already have hardware get a bring-your-own-kit path on that same order screen. UAE orders also require a photo ID, with Starlink saying kits will not ship until that registration is done and the contact name matches the document.
Shipping Is the Bottleneck
Starlink has placed a live constraint for UAE checkouts in the order page’s header:
No contracts, 30-day trial. Due to high demand and regional logistics challenges, there will be a delay in shipping your order. We’ll provide a delivery timeline as soon as it’s available.
During the pre-order week, some Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah addresses sat on a capacity waitlist, and some addresses are still showing a deposit being required to secure a waitlist spot. Alongside the wait for shipping, it seems that many customers in the UAE have been waiting for Starlink services, and even with yesterday’s official launch, can still expect some wait unless they’ve pre-ordered.
