Cursor has launched the new Projects feature in beta, rolling out to some users as of 10 September 2026. From the left-hand nav you can start a Project for larger work — a feature, a migration, or a full app — and leave a coordinator agent to plan and delegate while implementer agents do the coding.

The coordinator agent does not write code itself. It plans the work, creates and manages implementer agents in parallel, and brings finished work back for you to review. That is how a Project is meant to feel less like a single chat session and more like handing off a body of work and checking the results when the agents are done.

Own Cloud Computer
Each Project runs on its own computer in the cloud, so closing your laptop does not stop it. The coordinator can also spin a local agent when something needs to run on your machine, such as on-machine tests, without tying the whole Project to that laptop staying open.
Shared Context Across Agents
Shared context files sync across every cloud and local machine the agents use. As agents add research, artefacts, and lessons, later agents inherit that material, which is how Cursor is framing durable work that carries forward instead of restarting from a blank chat each time.

You can tell the coordinator to watch a Slack channel, run on a schedule, or follow your PRs. Point it at a bug-report channel and it can start delegating as reports come in, which is the event-driven path alongside always-on cloud work.
Cursor says Projects can maintain context over months of work, delegate to thousands of subagents, and perform recurring work without being prompted — company claims on the changelog, not third-party measurements. Pricing, plan tiers, and any enterprise exclusions are not spelled out on the Projects page, so those stay unknown for now.
