SpaceXAI has put a dedicated Grok Bot app on the Google Play Store and told Android users they can pre-register, with the Grok Bot team describing the build as almost ready. While there’s no public ship date quite yet on the Google Play store, it is still exciting news for Android users.
On Thursday, 27 August 2026, the the infamous @poteto (Lauren) confirmed that the Grok Bot team has been cooking, and that the Android app is almost ready. That confirmation also included a link to the Grok Bot pre-registration on the Google Play Store, although she didn’t go as far as to confirm a date.
That means the Android client is no longer only a coming-soon line. There is now a store page to watch, even if the app is not yet in our hands.
Pre-Registration, Not Launch
The listing is live on Google Play, and users can pre-register as simply as clicking this link from their Android device. Some early users on X are finding they cannot register quite yet, as you must be in a supported country to sign up for Grok Bot, however neither X nor Google have provided a list of countries at this time.
SpaceXAI’s official webpages for Grok Bot also state that the Android version is still “Coming Soon,” which means that this pre-registration sign up seems to have opened almost as soon as the Grok Bot team got the app ready for Google Play.
While a Play Store listing and a registration button aren’t a shipped app, it is a good sign that the engineering teams are hard at work finalizing the app over the coming days. Based on similar timings with the recently refreshed X Android App and X Lite for Android, we’ll likely see Grok Bot for Android launch within the next two weeks.
For now though, Android users can stick to messaging their Bots via the desktop app until their device finally downloads the official Android release.
