This week, there’s some new features and demos for Grok Bot, as well as Elon Musk confirming that Grok 4.8 is coming soon – but still no exact date.
Payments Tab and Import Memory
Grok Bot V0.77.0, released Oct. 26, added the Vault Payments tab, where you pick the payment method Bots use first; you still approve every purchase. This can be saved payment methods like Credit Cards or PayPal, or it could be using Stripe’s Link service as well. Users approve each 1Password login, which fills into the Bot’s browser without the Bot seeing it.
Another new feature, Import Memory, available now in the Settings pane, brings context over from another AI assistant. That means if you’ve been using Hermes, OpenClaw, Dots, Duet, or Muse, you can jump over quickly to Grok Bot with a chat history import.
SpaceXSI also added the ability for individual bots to ask you back-to-back questions on stepped cards, enabling more cohesive responses without needing to type out your own answers manually. Bots can now also propose Auto-Review rule changes on a card that you can confirm, and expired Connectors now show an “Authenticate” button, rather than simply showing green and Connected.
Shopping Cards and Shop Pay
Grok Bot Version 0.78.1, released the day after on Oct. 27, added shopping results as product cards with a photo, rating, price and store, three to four results in a carousel. The new Buy Now functionality will start an order using your linked Payments in your Grok Bot Vault, and your Bot will track the order up to its arrival.
SpaceXSI also introduced new Bot templates to start and cancel trials before they bill, find unused subscriptions and monitor subscription pricing, and more to help users tame their subscriptions and wallet this week.
Grok 4.8 Is Coming, Date Unknown
@techdevnotes I know it’s taken longer than expected, but Grok 4.8 will not be a disappointment.
We’re not optimizing for benchmarks and I really don’t care how Grok does on those, but it will be incredibly useful.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 30, 2026
Musk has previously mentioned that Grok 4.8 would arrive shortly after 4.7, especially since 4.8 apparently entered its last stage of training sometime in September. We expect that the relatively mild feedback on X from 4.7 has resulted in SpaceXSI reevaluating their final training sprints to release a more capable multi-modal model.
Referral Rules
Grok’s new referral program gives a new friend a two-week Premium trial, with a card required and a reminder seven days before the first charge.
The referrer gets one free usage reset per friend who pays, valid for six months. Referrers must be in the U.S. and on paid Premium, Super or Ultra on The X Subscription; Plus and Team plans can’t refer for now, and legacy Cursor and SuperGrok plans can’t refer. Apple and Google in-app purchases don’t count.
SpaceXSI’s Sales Team Runs on Three Shared Bots
SpaceXSI’s Sales reps shared three Grok Bots, in an Oct. 27 case study. The Account Intel Bot briefs reps before meetings, reads the Gong transcript afterward, updates Salesforce and drafts a follow-up. The Quote Bot builds side-by-side pricing proposals and generates the Ironclad order form once a quote is approved. Finally, Deal Bot triages non-standard terms for the Deal Desk in Slack and stamps every approval with the decision and the person responsible.
The Bots act with each user’s permissions, so “a sales rep, for example, cannot use Quote Bot to approve their own discount.” SpaceXSI gave no figures on time saved and calls the effort “still early.” It follows the support team case study where SpaceXSI expanded its support capabilities without hiring additional humans for the process.
