Doosan Enerbility shipped its first gas turbine to the United States on Oct. 6, 2026: a 380 MW-class DGT6-300H S2 built for SpaceXAI. The company marked the send-off with a ceremony at its gas-turbine assembly plant at headquarters in Changwon, South Korea, about 300 kilometres southeast of Seoul.
Doosan says the unit is for SpaceXAI’s U.S. energy infrastructure project. Neither SpaceX nor Doosan confirmed which particular SpaceXAI site will be taking the delivery quite yet, but it will be headed to power a gas generator. These in-place permanent turbines are far more efficient and quiet than the temporary gas and diesel generators that SpaceX has been using temporarily, and will help to both reduce noise complaints and energy costs.
The Changwon Shipment
The send-off ceremony had about 70 people attending, with executives and staff from Doosan Enerbility’s Power Service business group, lead by the group head, Son Seung-woo. In addition, key SpaceXAI from Korea also attended the send-off ceremony, and had a chance to tour the shipment line and Changwon manufacturing floors, then sat with Doosan management on expanding gas-turbine cooperation between the two companies.
Doosan localized large power-generation gas turbines in 2019 and presents itself as the fifth company worldwide to build that technology. The Changwon unit is the first of those machines it has sent to the United States.
This is a finished, fully prepared heavy turbine leaving the factory floor. It isn’t a set of blades, a component kit, or a design unit, but one intended for permanent power production at its final installation location.
By entering the supply chain of a world-class AI company, we have demonstrated the technological capability and quality of South Korea’s gas turbines.

Son said Doosan will use the shipment as a springboard to push harder into the North American and global large gas-turbine market. Doosan also said it wants more work with global technology companies as AI data centres lift demand for steady generation kit.
Site and Order Count Still Unclear
Korean news reports have confirmed that SpaceXAI is the customer, and officials from Doosan noted that this turbine was built in support of a U.S. energy infrastructure project. They didn’t expand further than that, so we don’t know which campus, city, or plant will receive this particular turbine unit.
In addition, delivery timing, installation, and actual turn-key operation dates in the U.S. are undisclosed, so until SpaceX or Doosan names a site or someone sees the turbine arriving, we won’t know where its going or when.
Doosan has signed contracts to supply a total of 12 gas turbines to U.S. companies, including SpaceXAI. Industry estimates have placed about five of those 12 as destined for SpaceXAI facilities. This 380 MW turbine will provide a considerable amount of power stability for one of SpaceX’s data centers, and enable the team to continue building out more compute as the next four units follow.
