Grok Bot can now buy things on the internet. xAI has cooperated with Stripe’s Link, enabling a built-in wallet to allow Grok Bot to make purchases on your behalf.
This new payment rail provides Grok Bot with its own virtual wallet (using your cards). That means it can now search for things you want to buy, find a deal, and then go ahead and purchase them all without requiring human intervention. Previously, you’d be required to login to your payment provider accounts through the built-in web browser, but now Link makes the experience seamless.
Connect Link and Let Bot Shop
Start in Grok Bot and connect @link, Stripe’s Link wallet. Official Link pages describe that connection as an agent wallet: you authorize the agent from the Bot, payment credentials stay inside Link, and the agent never sees the underlying card or bank details.
After Link is connected, you can send the Bot shopping. It can browse a retailer, build a cart, and take the order through checkout. Grok Bot is using the same open web it already knows how to click through, but now rather than awaiting transaction details, it can fill it all for you.
Human Auth Required
While this makes the Bot-powered shopping experience more seamless, it doesn’t make it completely human-free. You are still required to authorize purchases for the Bot through the Link agent wallet. The agent sents a spend request when its ready to pay, but doesn’t execute until you confirm through the Grok Bot App.
Once that request is approved, Grok Bot receives a secure, single-use card for the payment. The card is issued for that checkout, and is not a reusable number saved anywhere on the Bot’s virtual machine. It is also not directly tied to your actual funding source, similar to the way Apple Pay works today.
xAI still tells users to take control of the computer themselves when a site asks for a password, a two-factor code, or a payment confirmation the Bot should not handle. Shopping does not replace that handoff.
US Now, Mobile Soon
The shopping path is live for users in the US, and it is rolling out to mobile soon. xAI has not published a merchant list, a fee schedule, or a country timetable beyond that, but Link has confirmed that it is looking to deploy its agent wallet to Canada next.
For anyone who already treats a Bot as a teammate that researches options and fills a cart, this will make the process even easier and faster.
