The Grid Fin covers SpaceX rockets and launches, Starlink, xAI, and the patents and technologies shaping their future.
Our goal is to make complex developments understandable without flattening the details that matter. We publish timely news, deep analysis and down-to-Earth technical explainers for readers who want more than headlines or hype.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, technology companies and other outside organizations.
Advertising relationships do not determine what we cover or how we cover it. Sponsors cannot review, alter or suppress our independent reporting. Any paid or sponsored material will be clearly identified so readers can distinguish it from editorial content.
The Grid Fin does not accept payment in exchange for favourable coverage.
Sourcing and Verification
We prioritize primary sources whenever they are available, including:
- Regulatory filings and official records
- Company announcements and technical documentation
- Patents and patent applications
- Launch licences and mission materials
- Public presentations and executive remarks
- Direct statements from the organizations and people involved
We may also use reputable secondary reporting to provide context, confirm developments or identify information requiring further verification.
When reporting rumours, preliminary information or claims that cannot yet be independently confirmed, we clearly describe that uncertainty. We distinguish established facts from analysis, informed interpretation and speculation.
Technical Reporting
Patents, prototypes, research projects and technical proposals require careful language.
A patent describes an invention or possible implementation. It does not, by itself, prove that the technology is currently used, commercially viable or scheduled for deployment. Likewise, a prototype or internal project does not necessarily represent a finished product.
Our technical coverage aims to explain:
- What the technology is intended to accomplish
- How it may work
- What evidence supports its existence or use
- Which details remain uncertain
- Why it matters within the broader system
Where practical, we link readers to the relevant source material so they can examine it directly.
Corrections and Updates
Accuracy matters more than preserving the original wording of a story.
When we discover a material factual error, we correct it as soon as reasonably possible. Significant corrections will be clearly disclosed within the article. Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or clarity changes may be made without a correction notice when they do not alter the substance of the reporting.
Developing stories may be updated as new information becomes available. When an update materially changes the article’s conclusions or understanding of events, we will identify that change.
Readers can report a possible error at [email protected].
Artificial Intelligence
The Grid Fin may use artificial-intelligence tools to support parts of the editorial process, including research organization, transcription, brainstorming, and source comparison. We may also use clearly labelled AI-generated imagery in support of our articles covering the use of AI.
AI output is not treated as a source or accepted as fact. A human writer must still review and verify information, before a second human editor approves it for publication.
The human editor remains responsible for:
- Selecting and evaluating sources
- Verifying factual claims
- Determining the article’s conclusions
- Applying editorial judgment
- Ensuring the final work meets our standards
We do not knowingly publish fabricated quotations, sources, events or technical claims generated by an AI system. Where AI-generated or substantially AI-modified media could reasonably be mistaken for documentary material, it will be identified as illustrative.
Originality and Attribution
We credit the reporting, research, imagery and ideas of others.
Direct quotations are attributed to their original speakers or sources. Information originating from another publication is credited and linked where appropriate. We do not knowingly present another creator’s reporting or analysis as our own.
Images are used under applicable licences, permissions or recognized editorial-use principles and are credited where required.
Reviews, Products and Affiliate Relationships
Any product supplied for review, paid placement, affiliate relationship or other material benefit that could reasonably affect a reader’s assessment will be disclosed.
Receiving access, equipment or compensation does not guarantee positive coverage. Editorial conclusions remain our own.
The Grid Fin does not allow commercial partners to purchase undisclosed editorial treatment.
Sponsored Content
Sponsored or partner-supported content will be clearly labelled.
We will not publish sponsored material designed to impersonate independent reporting. Sponsored content must remain accurate, relevant to our readers and consistent with our broader editorial standards.
Commercial partners may review sponsored material for factual accuracy regarding their own products or services, but they may not rewrite independent editorial conclusions or remove legitimate criticism.
For advertising and partnership inquiries, contact [email protected] or [email protected].
Ownership and Responsibility
The Grid Fin is independently owned and edited by Karan Singh.
Responsibility for editorial decisions, corrections and published standards ultimately rests with the editor. These standards may evolve as the publication grows, adds contributors or introduces new formats, but the principles of accuracy, transparency and editorial independence will remain central.
